Life with Short Gut Syndrome, Transplant, Brain Injury & a whole lot of adventure.
The week in pictures
So while I’ve got an internet connection, I thought I should probably share some of the pictures that have been taken since we left the hospital.
Toys for Tots and the Marines brought Santa to visit the children at the hospital and they invited those staying at the Ronald McDonald House as well.
Santa took one on one time greeting all the Children. Here is Patrick listing off what his wishes are
In case you’ve wondered why Patrick makes the news so much, here are the cameras that arrived at this event.
Santa called the children up by name.
They brought a present for each of the children. Patrick tried to return his because it was not what he had just told Santa he wanted.
Getting a smile for the cameras is always a bit of a feat
This is Patrick all ready for his morning lab draw. This home health agency is extra careful about protecting his central line. We wear masks and gloves. And don’t mind one bit.
Here is Patrick cozy in his bed at the Ronald McDonald House. He loves the pillowcase that he was given this week.
The youth group at our church back home sent us a care package this week. He was so excited.
These window decals are now gracing our windows and the framed art around our room.
One of the dinner groups this week was a home economics class. The teacher had them sew pillowcases and capes for the kids. Then, they came and made us a dinner they’d learned in class. Kind of cool.
Our little Christmas tree. We are halfway through the month, so we have twice this many more ornaments to make and hang.
Patrick’s “bath dress”. He is so cold in the morning that one towel isn’t enough.
